Toronto,
Okay so I've been doing my searching, and even after I post this I'll continue to search and keep looking for the most complete answers.

I want to know what STAGE 2 clutches in TURBO'D 2gnt's are working great for people. I just dropped a shit load of cash into my motor, and right when everything is going good for me, My throwout bearing on my ACTION STAGE 2 clutch decides it wants to crap out AGAIN! Anyways so I'm low on cash, but I'm willing to spend the money on a good clutch that will last more than a year, and put the labor in myself during school if I have too. Its just that with school starting I need my car back, and time is becoming a very big issue.

I also have been informed that Exeddy has been making a modular clutch system for the neon's so my questions about this are.

1) do neon clutches work in RS/GS eclipes's?
2) Anyone know who the exeddy clutch compares?
3) What is the best modular clutch to go with for our cars?

Thanks for any help, I'm still searching.

I've heard and read good things bout SPEC...that's what I will be going with when the time comes :thumb:

Well after doing some more seaching I found this

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=199654&highlight=spec+clutch

And I was wondering if the prices that they had were for our cars, because I'd like to put a A Stage 3+ if the price is right, but according to the holding capacity a stage 2 or stage 2+ would be perfect for my application too.
Any information on where I can find a really good price on.....

1)Spec Stage 3+
2)Spec Stage 2
3)Spec Stage 2+

I've read nothing but good things about these clutches, so if anyone else here's otherwise please post asap.
Thanks

im currently running the spec stage 3 from HP freaks, very streetable, just takes a lil getting used to. All in all good clutch though, been running it for about 7 months.

I did, and it took me way longer than it should have, im not the one you wanna ask on how to install the clutch...sorry:(

agreed i have the spec stage 2 and love it grabby as hell. also the clutch disc and pressure plate are bolted on with alen bolts not studded on like oem clutchs so if you can find out which car uses the same cluch disc and pressure plate, - the flywheel plate you can save some money later. i'm thinking of posting a thread about this to see if it can work. that way we 2gnt's don't have to spend 450 for a clutch.

haha well if you DID do it, then you are the one I would want to talk to. I need pointers and what not.

Why did it take you longer?

I was doing a complete rebuild, and i just had trouble placing the engine back into the car with the clutch already attached. It was a pain.....:coy:

...the time has come

oh noez

I have the loudest most annoying clanking etc noise from the engine bay that just disappears whenever I push the clutch in...then there's this nasty smell after driving, and it's not rubber :notgood:

you guys wana hear some thing kinda strange? well you will anyway. ROFL
i did my rebuild last may. i did not resurface the flywheel or replace the clutch. i know for sure the clutch had atleast 40,000 miles on it. i run 8 psi everyday and drive the crap out of my car. and i still am not having any clutch problems. expect for a hydrolic problem which was, and still is kinda strange. but the clutch is still holding up like a champ. crazy huh?

Clutches are cool, as you know hahn boosted the crap out their stock RS clutch. I bought a new clutch back in 04 because my stock one was going out already (way before I went turbo). I just got a clutch that handle the non turbo power, but going turbo obviously changed that so that I needed a better one.

I did end up getting the Stage 3+ Spec Clutch, I didn't install it because the shop where I got my old clutch was taking care of it for me, so they just did the whole thing.

In the time that I did have my car, (during the break in period of 900miles, and about 300miles after that under boost conditions) The clutch is awesome. feels like a stock clutch right up until it grabs, then you remember its a stage 3. The (+) just means very streetable. I love it, no problems yet. I hope to keep it that way.

Hey did anyone notice that our Throwout bearings have some plastic in it and not full metal like other ones. Just thought it was weird. Anyone know why?

LOL I had that same problem pushing the pedal in made the noise stop. Turns out someone installed my motor mounts in upside down on the tranny side, I thought it was just how loud polyurathene mounts were. I was wrong. (thats we should all do your own work) That was awhile go. I've learned.
