Ok I have this odd smell under hard accelleration. It almost smell like a candle blowing out mixed with plastic. And its only during hard accelleration.

I was thinking it may be my exhaust leak. I have a stripped out stud on the manifold and I can hear the tick/knock because of it. I will have to see what I ca do to fix the stud, well its the part that screws into the head. So ill have to get a helicoil put in and a ss stud kit ans see if that helps.. At wot my afr are 10 to 11. Which I believe are normal.

Lol deff no plastic bag. Plus that would burn all the time. I thought mine was a coupler hitting the turbo somewhere but none are. Might be an exhaust leak but i cant hear any difference in the exhaust. Would running too rich cause this? My wb02 is too far back in the exhaust to give a good reading but its constantly fluctuating and is less than 10 sometimes at wot. Idle is 13-15 and cruise is 14-15.5. Also i have evo 560's untuned. Maybe the cause? Hmmmm

haha just threw the plastic bag out there because i've seen it too many times. ## right you would definately smell it more often than "only when accelerating".
However, I agree with black widow, check exhaust leaks. Definately want to fix that exhaust hanger Stud. Hard to torque a stud that just spins. Good luck fellas.

This actually happened on my quad, so it is not that far fetched. And if you leave it it will continue to stink like burning plastic until you scrape it off. Trust me. LOL

I have a oil leak as well. Fixed one already but can't fix my oil cap issue. Its a brand new oil cap and I have bent the fins slightly. It seems to help a lot but there's still a slight oil leak through the cap. I had to turn boost down so it wasn't creating a lot of pressure. I also replaced the pcv valve which seem to help also. What are other reasons oil comes out oil cap and dipstick shoots out?

Excessive crankcase pressure will make your dipstick pop out. Which means your getting a lot of blow-by. No bueno!

Just blow by. I use 2 gaskets on the oil cap to stop the leakage. It works great. My dipstick will very rarely pop out, usually when I'm running it very hard. I have a carburetor spring holding it down just incase.

May be oil in my intake but i have absolutely no smoke even under wot. I just thought it might be my injectors because i never had the smell before them. Gonna try to get my logger to work tom to see whats goin on. Also my car feels slower with the 560 but beter than hitting fuel cut with the 450s.

I know its blow by. I have good compression and just replaced the pcv valve. What esle causes blow by? From what I read its from bad seals, rings or pcv valve.

Well running to rish causes blowby as it wears down the rings really fast. And with evo 560's your efinetly too rich.. Id pull out a little fuel but not a lot unless you know what your doing.. It feels slower because being leaner makes more power then being rich. My oil cap leaks as well and ive done all the trick in the book.. I just clean it every couple days LOL.
