ok, what happened to this company?

Since when does obx turn around from making rice parts to making LSD's, cams, manifolds, headers and NOW intercoolers, which are btw, EXACT replicas of APEXi????

I mean its almost as if they literally, take a product, CLONE it, and sell it for 1/3 the price

The products look nice, but WTF???

how can you possibly do this? At these prices? Legally????

Aside from keeping the stock fogs I don't understand why anyone would go with this kit over the ssauto.

i got both the ssac and this.

If I was buying it brand new at regular price, yea the SSAC is superior.

I think i mention above what i found to be key points.

OBX/APEX'i COPY PROS OVER SSAC
easier to install
keep foglights
no need to cut radiator support
keep 5mph bumper support
dont need to trim/cut the bumper (unless you are a perfectionist)
no need to relocate overflow.

SSAC PROS OVER OBX/APEX'i COPY
cheaper (i think) unless price went up
superior core
short route piping
ALL PIPING even upper ic pipes
superior t-bolt clamps and couplers

----------

i have the ssac in my weekend car, even if i got another one for that unbeatable price I got the obx, I would've bought it no doubt, but probably not put it on. the reason I bought the obx, was mainly for the price it was offered to me, but because I already had upper ic pipes that look stock and route to the smic area. and the obx piping also routes there which will keep my intentions of having a low key vehicle true. this goes with the next couple of things hand in hand--so it means no cutting of anything, except trimming the bumper support, but it still manages to stay on, keep the fogs.

but yea, unless someone's goal was like mine, keeping the engine bay stock looking as possible, and/or really swore by the foglights, much easier install, and got it at a dirt cheap price like i did, the SSAC is the right choice for all 2gs, and its all reflected in this thread, you can see how dead it was until i posted and brought it back hah

dont mean to burst any bubbles but u will have to trim the 2ga bumper at the bottom and trim the grill area aout a lil. but for the price it really cant be beat. sure if you are pushing a high hP application then u totaly agree. spend the 800-1000. but if u have a daily driver and just looking for a upgraded I/C kit for your DSM this is a good kit. :thumb:

oops :D i almost forgot, my 95 has 2gb front conversion. i did not do a single bit of trimming or cutting, pics of my front bumper on after install are above somewhere. i guess i thought all 2ga owners converted to 2gb fronts :shhh: thanks for pointing that out, now that i think about it, it would seem that that 2ga front would need some trimming

I just put the OBX Apexi clone FMIC on this weekend. Taking off the bumper assembly was fine except for the 500 plastic screw fasteners that would not come out. I set up the FMIC ( mine did have all the brackets on). The kit lined up , though I did break one of the thin ODX stamped T-Bolt clamps. The kit was used and missing 2 couplers. It is supposed to be 2.5" piping but If you get a 2.5" coupler, its going to be to have too much gap 2.25" was alittle hard to get on but works .

All the other reviews I read did not happen to me. I did not have to cut any piping. No brackets broke ( by accident or for a purpose). I did not have a crooked fmic, The "L" brackets that bolt the FMIC to the frame are different sizes and I can see that making the FMIC cocked if they were on the wrong side. If you are getting this for a 95-96 dsm you won't be able to keep your fogs. Other than that, There were no problems ( besides the t-bolt clamps ).

The test drive was great. I compare it to putting on a catback. I could feel the car pulling better, especially in the mid to upper rpm range. There also seemed to be a lower engine note.. Deeper, more between the FMIC and Type-S.

P.S. I hate plastic screws
