I'm looking on upgrading my stock O2 housing....so i was wondering if the megan O2 housing would be an upgrade to the stock one? Also, does anyone have one of these (Megan O2 housing)? The reason why i'm asking is cause i'm creeping a bit and i would like to know if the housing would help flow things better. Or would getting an O2 housing that dumps to atmosphere would be better? eBay Motors: NEW DSM o2 Housing Dump Pipe Tube - Eclipse 1g 2g 4g63 (item 160206398241 end time Feb-11-08 18:00:13 PST)

I'm sure the megan o2 housing would work fine and fix your boost creep problem. You could also look into porting the stock one, this would also fix your boost creep. The o2 dump, performance wise is the best bet, but your car will be alot louder once you get into boost, cops dont like these.

I have an external o2 housing I purchased off of ebay and love it. Quality wise its nice , the welds are good, and the fitment was exact. It should help your creep problem, will help your turbo spool quicker and yes the external is LOUDER when turbo is spooling.

The last thing i need is the cops all over me. So if the Megan O2 housing does the job and help with the boost creep then that's the one i'm getting. I've also looked on getting my stock O2 housing ported but dont i have to port other stuff, like the Downpipe inlet and the part of the turbo where the O2 housing meets the turbo?

Porting your O2 housing would help but also think about this, when do most people start suffering from boost creep?
After instaling a free flowing exhaust system.
So if your creeping now with your curren't setup I'd recomend you port the wastegate passage of the turbo. Because right now at low boost the exhaust if finding that leaving through the turbine to be the path of least restisance compared to your wastegate passage, so if you fix that now then when you add even more free flow into your exhaust you don't run into more problems later.

BUT that O2 housing has been proven to be a very nice peice and is helpful for your power goal, but in *my opinion* porting the turbo is the only real way to solve creep.

The first thing I put on my current car was a Buschur o2 housing with dump. I set the boost at 15psi. Then I put a 3" Buschur turboback on. My boost jumped up to 24 psi because the turbo was creeping even with the o2 dump. Since that happened I couldn't go full throttle in my car or I would hit fuel cut. And yes I tried turning the boost down with my boost controller. The lowest I could get it to go was 20-21psi. I am much happier with my external setup now.

So even with your external dump you still creep? 20-21 of boost is still high i think. I would get an external dump but the cops here got nothing better else to do if you know what i mean. Just got a couple of quick questions: So if i was to change the stock O2 with the Megan O2 Housing,Would i see any difference? What is the benefit of the megan O2 housing comparing it to the stock one? Because seeing them both physically, they dont look much different.

This mod is more to to help with boost creep and boost spike than anything else. Yeah you will probally have alittle better spool time but not alot. Either port your o2 housing or buy that megan o2 housing. Then get your manifold ported or upgrade it. These will help with the creep problem.

is it worth the money on a street set up to get a tubular exhaust manifold and o2 or is porting sufficant?
since..... money=performance
how much performance willi really get for my money?

If your not planning on make lots of power (as in 350-400+) you really dont need a tubular manifold, not to mention they are pretty expensive if you want a quality peice thats not going to crack. You would be fine with just a ported 2G manifold or a evo 3 manifold. The o2 is really up to you if you want to save a couple bucks then port it yourself, or spend the money and get an aftermarket one.

Yes, with the o2 dump it was creeping on the stock turbo. My external wastegate set up controls it perfectly now. The only time it is loud is when the wastegate starts to open. So cops shouldn't be an issue unless your driving like an idiot and going full throttle all the time. With the external wastegate you can still vent it back into the exhaust and control creep perfectly fine.
