Algonquin,
how important are these mods? am i missing out on a lot of power by not having these? they'er kinda expensive so i justed wanted to check w/ you guys first.

Well I'd say by looking at your profile you don't really need to worry about a downpipe right now. The tuning guide on this site exists because there have been many people before you that have found what works, and what works best. Follow it. I assume by Ractive exhaust you mean a muffler on stock piping. Check out the tuning guide and start with Stage 1. Also read as much as you can, after the more you know, the less you have to ask dumb questions.

(That was in no way meant as an insult to anyone, it was in jest and I would hope you take it as one.)

i updated my mod in profile.

as far as exhaust i have.. 2.5" custom cat back w/ dynomax muffler, high flow cat.

turbo inlet pipe w/ KN filter, 1g bov, and i'm trying to make my own IC pipes but its not working out for me so far.

Well yes you do need to get that Down pipe. Your catback is basically useless until you upgrade the dp, and a ported o2 or bigger would just make it even better.

even though you may not need these mods yet, they are very important.

with a turbo car you want the best exhaust flow possible, it makes less heat on you intake temps because your turbo has less exhaust go through it, because more is bypassed by the wastegate. it will increase spool-up. also it will help with longevity of your turbo(and oil) because there is less heat created.

both are exellent mods, and i recomend the biggest you can get on both items! (ok maybe not 4 inch but 3-3 1/2 is fine if you want a pavement pounder)

as for the i/c pipes

98tsiawd has a good article on how to make them, i made my uicp for 36 bucks(shipped)

he is a moderator on this site and the article is in the tech section....

just pm him if you have questions

yea thats where i got the idea from.. i ordered all the pipes and bought all the couplings.. i just can't get it to fit. the fuse box gets in the way. i'm gonna try again when i go home for break.

anyone have pics of the finished product installed?

is it possible to make your own downpipe and housing?? my dad works at midas so i have access to the pipes and tools.

i would leave the o2 housing to the pros, because it cost alot for the bend, and its a pain in the ass. as far as the downpie goes, i would do it.

go to www.roadraceengineering.com and they have a guild to making a custom downpipe.

sorry my pic is horrible, i couldn't find a better one. and it is dark out right now and cold so i am not taking another pic

do think midas would stock downpipes or o2 housing? i dont want to ask my dad cause he hates all the mods and stuff he thinks they're useless and a waste of money.

is that a pic of the IC pipe you made?

So true.
Your exhaust needs to flow freely because you're boosted. Letting the turbo breathe is definately a good thing. ;) The 02 housing could definately use a good porting or even replacing with a better flowing o2 housing, also the little "bottleneck" in the downpipe (flex section) is another restrictive area of your exhaust setup. These two items will help you out tremendously with getting rid of those exhaust gases.
