Mississauga,
I'm getting ready to install the actual timing belt and I've been following http://www.vfaq.com/mods/timingbelt-1G.html I put the timing belt over the intake and exhaust cam gears and clip them in place with the timing marks aligned. Then put it over the idler pulley, oil pump and crank gears. When I try to put it over the tensioner pulley, it's as if the belt is too short. I'm using a brand new tensioner and I've used the long threaded tensioner tool to put just enough tension on the arm as to pull the grenade pin out of the tensioner. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to further compress the tensioner arm to get the belt over the tensioner pulley?
