hello there every body i'm new at this i need some help. my first question is would my car run good with low compress (8:81) pistons its not turbo yet? i herd that it runs like crap i get my car out next week and he wont put the turbo in till two more weeks. another thing i want to run a 16G turbo do i really need the J-pipe?
i have a fully built engine
what i plan to do is have 255walbro fuel pump stock injecotrs 12.1 fmu and thanks for the help.

Yes, it will run slower than slow with low compression pistons until you add some forced induction to it. The J-Pipe was meant to accommodate 2G turbo's that had the stock T25. The outlet of the T25 and a 14B/16G point in different directions, requiring it's use. Depending on how you run your intercooler piping, you may not need a j-pipe.

Why are you using a FMU instead of an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

If you want to run a 16g i recommend you get one from hahn not an evo, buschur, or slowboy 16g or anything that was originally intended for the 4g63. otherwise your stuck with the difficult task of having a custom downpipe made because with a mitsu 16g you cannot incorporate the o2 housings due to the fact that they will face upward once mounted. if you do use a mitsu 16g or any replica alike, i would reccomend a j-pipe because the compressor outlet was originally set up for it and otherwise you have to force a coupler over the raised areas on the outlet and are then just increasing your chances of a boost leak. goodluck on boost!

btw: running on 8.8:1 compression for awhile wont be a problem it will just be a little slower than stock. It will probably be better for the motor that you break it in before installing the turbo anyway.

Simple, cheap and cost effective, and then he doesn't have to use bigger injectors until he gets past that 8psi mark for boost.

Yes his fuel pressure will be insanely high, but thats what we gotta do when we first get started.

yeah i have a 16G internal wasgated turbo with an o2housing 3'catback with that.
and is my fuel system okay for 8psi of boost? thank you guys Sorry for the noob questions.

8.8:1CR isn't even a full point drop. You will see less than a 4% loss in brake horsepower versus stock. The 4% per point CR rule for 2GNTs.

Any o2 housing designed for the 4g63 application will not work for your application unless you have a manifold with the outlet facing the ground to where th turbo is facing in an upside down position. thats all there is to it. sell the o2 housing and just buy a flange like this one:

which you can get from RRE and use it to make a downpipe; you will not have an o2 housing.

and yes you need a j-pipe then. RRE also sells one thats larger diameter for better flow than the oem.

all u need is a 12:1 fmu and a walbro 255lph fuel pump and your fuel system will be fine.

a stock fuel system will not supply enough fuel pressure therefore causing lean conditions and then the obvious.

I learn something new every day.

You can just use the j pipe. its more work then the t3/t4 style, but personaly I like it better. Pretty much you need a costom manifold made. I can get some pics of my set up with a upgraded 14b if you would really like. the down pipe is no big deal at all. the main problem will be cooling fans. there will be no room for the stockers, but if your doing all this work to the car whats a few more bucks. Iv looked into using a pusher fan off a 94 caravan, super skinny. that can mount on the front of your radiator, just hardwire it in. cheep at a junk yard. what I ended up doing was gettin some super thin fans from summit racing and wireing them into a switch on my dash. 130some bucks problem solved. any questions pm me.

so where can i buy a J-pipe since i need it and what should i do since i have a 16G internal wasgated turbo? i'm force to sell my O2housing what flange should i use then i have 3' down pipe?

i already told you this flange: http://www.roadraceengineering.com/p...bineoutlet.jpg

and u can use this j-pipe on this site: http://dsm.dejonpowerhouse.com/

its called a compressor outlet elbow. it comes w/o air nipple the way you want it.
it Increases restricted area 37% over stock. Fits 14b (stock 1g) & 16g Compressors.
part # is cop-a . look under 1st generation side mount intercoolers and pipes then just scroll down.
