I was disappointed when I found out my 98 GSX wasn't equipped with a Limited slip rear diff. I'm wondering what components I need to get for this conversion. Will I need to replace the entire rear end, meaning: brakes, shocks, subframe, bearings? I already know that the axles are different.

Please let me know what parts I will need, as well as any other useful info you can share.

That is a good point to make. To be honest with you, I had no idea for the longest time what kind of diff I had. It didn't really mean much to me, but just recently, I've been having issues with wheelspin when taking off. Honestly, knowing that I have limited slip back there will make me feel better all together.

Also, the reason I even found out is because I have a bad rear wheel bearing, but damaged axle threads while trying to replace it. I had to figure out what kind of replacement axles I needed.

After doing a small amount of research, I found that the LSD from the rear of evo viii's and ix's swaps out directly with the diff in the rear of the BFB non LSD diff from 2g's.

So what I did was, I searched for an evo LSD non ACD rear diff for just under $300. This was exciting considering these average about $800 when sold as a conplete unit in the housing. I found one that had already been removed for an upgrade. Stock dsm LSD rear ends usually cost more as well, plus the extra for axles.

So now I will have an upgraded LSD, in the stock housing, while retaining all stock axles. (Though I will need one rebuilt.)
