I just got the car running after a year or so, sart it up and no oil pressure at idle, but rev it up a bit and it goes up. But now no oil pressure, could it be the guage jacked up? or is it the car? is there any way to test either one? it's a auto meter spor comp guage 0-100 short sweep. also under boost oil comes out of the dip stick whole from the block, is this normal with bigger turbos and high boost?

It is getting to be normal. That usually is a sign that your piston rings are going out because it is letting combustion into the oilpan and blowing the dipstick out. As far as no oil pressure you probably have some but because of where the gauge is at it doesn't read exact at idle. Most fresh motors at operating temp. hold 10-15psi. Your motor is probably just getting tired. If it truely had no oil pressure, trust me, you would know.

yes, what he just said. also, if you feel like it check the sending unit for the gauge itself. i didnt get enough detail from your post, but its a longshot that the pcv valve is bad and that is why your dipstick pops out (or is it leaking from the block?) low oil pressure COULD mean your bearings are worn and you have excessive oil clearance. but then again, thats one of the many possibilities. hope we were of some help.

well oil pressue is good, put a mechanical oil pressure guage and it looked great damn auto meter guage.
