Hey everyone.. Ugh... I figured out i was running ONLY on cylinders 2 and 3.. i replaced the spark plug wires, the plugs, and the ignition coil for those cylinders (its a 7 bolt)... I dont know what else to replace or check to get spark out of these 2 cyclinders! help!

thanks. 95 eagle talon tsi awd

What happened, did they just all of a sudden stop getting spark? Did you do any mods and then found them not working? Id like to hear some background info too

Im having same problem with my 95 TSi. I would say try swapping your PTU with a known working one. I cant promise this will fix it, mine has new plug wires, new ptu, new coils, but still the same problem. Id love to hear more info on this also. This can definitely turn out be an expensive thing to narrow down. Any help to avoid buying unneeded parts would be awesome.

Seems like quite a few have had this problem :/

Background... I bought this car unworking.. the guy spun a bearing in the old motor and he went ahead and got a 7 bolt jdm and dropped it in there... he said all it needed was the vac lines hooked up basically... Any way of testing my ecu ? or camshaft sensor? I think its on the right side of the engine.. on a 7 bolt not sure.. 7 bolt and 6 bolt are so different
-_-..

thanks everyone.

Well it depends on what year motor 7 bolt is in the car. If its 97-99 motor its in the same place as the 6 bolt head. If its a 95-96 head it will be under the cam, not sure exactly where you can search for it on here. The easiest way to test the ecu is to find someone with another 2g and throw it in to see if it works.
