alright here, my dads 00 max recently crapped out and will be in a junkyard tomorrow, so i offered to take his oem enkei wheels on the car. i put all the wheels on the car and have a slight wiggle in the steering wheel. now i recently had alot of front end work done and know i need an alignment. but with that said i was running my 18 inch lancer wheels with no problem. the odd part is, is that the wheel is fine(correctly balanced/no flat spots) and my hub is completely fine, im thinking its the way i put it on b/c the other three are fine. so has anyone had this problem or know where im wrong?

Make sure your using the correct lug nuts as well.

There are differences and they can be detrimental if not realized. See below.

these wheels look pretty damn good for winter boots, and lets be honest nissan knows their shit. any who i figured out the problem and why the other three fit fine. the hub on my drivers side front is bigger than the rest of the hubs which is why none of the wheels fit fine on that one but have no problem anywhere else. soo with all that said, would spacers fix this hence the fact they have their own hub?

actually this is an interesting tid bit if you replaced a hub
RTM Racing :: Made by RTM :: Brakes :: Cobra Front Brake Upgrade :: Cobra Brake Rotor Hubcentric Rings
It's a bit of a story, but here goes. As many DSMers are aware, Mitsu upgraded the size of the front rotors on AWD models beginning in '93. This larger size was maintained right up to the end of production in '99. In addition to the OD (outside diameter) of the 93+ rotors being larger, Mitsu changed the size (to larger) of the centrebore of the rotor. Of course, to properly accomodate the larger centrebore, Mitsu changed the size of the hub flange to match. (Presumably, this was done in an effort to prevent someone from mounting a smaller OD rotor to a 93+ vehicle?)

Here's where things get a bit complicated. Presumably, based on the assumption that rotors are supposed to be changed in pairs, Mitsu apparently equipped some of their 93+ AWD vehicles with only one of the larger centrebore hubs (presumably, they further assumed no one would attempt to use two different size rotors?). Further complicating matters is that many aftermarket hub manufactuers sold both of the centrebore sized hubs (probably unsure why two different sizes existed, but just duplicated the specs to match the Mitsu ones).

So what the hell does all this mean? Quite simply: THERE ARE DSMs OUT THERE THAT MAY HAVE DIFFERENT SIZED FRONT HUB FLANGES (or at the very least) THE SIZE OF THE HUB FLANGES IS UNKNOWN! Depending on several factors (such as the origin of the hub (OEM or aftermarket) the production batch of the hub, etc, etc) some DSMs may have two small hub flanges, some may have two large hub flanges, or some one of each. The only way to know for sure is to measure. The difference in size is about 1.5mm dia. That can't be seen visually.

Might not be the reason for the hub to be a different size but strange....

thanks for the input ram, thats very interesting and good to know. for now spacer have worked, giving the needed distance off the wheel to the hub.

Good to hear, and np. It's funny when I made this account I had a 2010 ram R/T now I have a 98 gsx and 01 isuzu vehicross. so.....yah haha,

Matt
