I want to say whats up to everybody on here that been showing me love from the DSM website. I just move here from Italy and My GST was previously owned by a lady out of Lacey. I in Bremerton but dont know to much about stuff around here. Well the car is a 91 GS-T stock with 153xxx miles on it and the engine is in good condition with a minor brake line leak. I had it for 2 weeks now and since then I have gotten challenged by 2 toyotas. A Lowriding tacoma and the other a Celica that sounded like a angry bumble bee. I look to racing this car in the near future but not on the street. And first Im looking for a good import performance shop and a good engine builder. Trust me I have the money to spend but dont were to go. Thats were I hope some of u can help me with that. Well to you all thanks for having me on board and DSM's rule....LOL. Peace

I would look into these guys:

English Racing | HOME

I'd say build it yourself, but don't know your garage situation or wrenching ability.

I think you'll find most in the DSM community do much of their own disassembly/reassembly and leave as little work for the machinist as possible.

Personally, transmissions are the final frontier... voyages of the good ship diamond star.
WTF WTF

If you ever find yourself in the north Seattle area let me know. ;)

I Know Im A Lil Late On This Thread But, Welcome Meklo, There,s Also A Shop In Kent Called Pina Motorsport , If You Want I Can Throw You Some Info, Just Message Me.

I personally have had problems with Pina and Andre in the past, so I would recommend Lucas at English Racing since I have never had a problem with him. Peace

I know a lot of people that have had problems with Pina. Dont go there unless you dont mind taking forever and selling your house to fund it and you dont need it to be good honest workmanship. English racing is good and that is about the only shop I trust except for myself. Peace

I have done business with Lucas on many occasions as well as done business with Andre. Both have built very quick reliable motors. I have also heard bad experiences come out of both shops. You will find that anywhere you go. Does that mean that if you have a Shep Tranny and second goes out on you within a few months that Shep has a bad shop? #### no! it means that on a rare occasion something does not go as planned. The BIGGEST point to address is does the shop back up their work and quality by taking care of you if something they did has a problem. Both English Racing and Pina Motorsports back up their work.

If you want to discuss prices, Pina has been known to charge more than Lucas however for "some" people, the gas to drive down to Oregon makes the price the same. In anycase, the person looking for bids should contact both shops and see what they can offer in price and turn around time. Then make a decision based off of that.

Meklo - both shops can build you a motor of several stages depending on how much you want to spend. You also have an extended option of buying one from Buschur Racing as well. I suggest contacting one or all, talk the shit, let them know what you are looking for and what type of turn around and go from there.

All 3 shops have earned their right to be DSM Shops and have built work to prove it.

^^^ Well said!

I personally have had work done by Lucas and can say, without a doubt, it was the best expieriance I've ever had from a shop. I highly recommend English Racing.

Although I haven't used PINA, I do know that they are a trusted shop as well and personally know of 1 person that had them do a 6-bolt swap into his 2g (lccynmbr13) and was very pleased with his expieriance.

Bottom line... like Talon Got Boost said... English, PINA, and Buschur Racing are your best options. Call them all or don't call any of them, but if you take your business anywhere else... don't say we didn't say so.

I have personally never had a problem with Andre at Pina. He's always been cool to me when I was there. Besides charging a lot for his first dyno day I went to, he's been cool. He definitely has rubbed some people I know on a different forum the wrong way, but that is their business. However, Andre built my friend Steve's red 1G (NewTurboTuner) that won his class at BOTI Seattle this year. And his car is crazy fast!

I personally have more experience with Lucas and I can't say enough good things about him, his guys, and his shop. They are all great guys and do phenominal work! I have only heard one bad complaint come out of that shop, and that wasn't even Lucas' fault. The owner was just stupid.

Long story short, either will work for you.

Mr. THORLIEF (For Life I guess),

I am going to venture out on a limb here that you are in need of a Webster's Dictionary for Christmas. And "TH" and "F" are not pronounced the same. :coy:

I know alot of people, he knows alot of people, you know alot of people... ROFL How many is alot by the way? 3? 5? It is funny how someone will make a decision and express it based off the opinions of others. Have you taken your car personally to Pina? If not and you do not have your "own" factual opinion, I suggest being quiet. Bashing a company publicly can get your ass in alot of trouble with the possibilty of being sued by the said company if business is directly affected. (Is there not a rule on this site about bashing vendors?)

I have done business with Lucas on many occasions as well as done business with Andre. Both have built very quick reliable motors. I have also heard bad experiences come out of both shops. Guess what bud, it is a shop ran bad human beings, in which people can make mistakes or not catch something.

In anycase, the person looking for bids should contact both shops and see what they can offer in price and turn around time. Then make a decision based off of that. To make public accusation based off of opinions will do nothing for you or your integrity.

All 3 shops have earned their right to be DSM Shops and have built work to prove it. *In my opinion based off of factual product output*

Thanks man and like u said some things go wrong but u always get mad at the mechanic for a mistake when 9 times out of 10 sometimes its drive fault on what limits he has taken his car to. I was told about Buschur Racing from a guy here in Bremerton about Buschar but Pina is local like u said and if i can i will go see them if today. My thing is that i was a good engine for a good price but a good turn around time. i dont like cars with an empty engine bay for to long if you know what i mean
