so i've decided to get a suspension. i want a avg drop height nothing crazy. i am staying on my stock 5 spoke mitsu rims. i am looking at one of these combos:
1. tokico illumina kit (shocks and springs)
2. tokicp illumina shocks / tein h tech springs
3. kyb agx shocks / one of those springs

what i'm wondering is:
1. since the car is fwd, an adjustable shock would dramatically improve launch and help out?
2. are the tokico illumina shocks really that much better then the kyb agx's?
3. are the tein springs better then the tokico.

sorry for the specific q's but all are about the same price, i just wanna make the right decision. not to much of a drop, and a nice stock feeling ride or something close.

i'm not trying to bump my thread or b a jerk, but is there a reason why out of 92 views not one single person has responded. i know not everyone may have the answer or experience and i kno my q was specific, but this is a DSM specific website. im just looking for some ideas or experience.

According to RREs website - "We don't recommend the AGXs for the 2G Eclipse, the 2G front shock body length is too long for car that are lowered at all"

The Tokico springs will lower it 1.5", Eibach Pro will lower it 1.2" and the Tein H is a 1" drop. I say go with Tein H or Eibach Pro with Tokico Illuminas.

The issue may be that you are trying to solve problems, or improve performace by purchasing "brand names." Brand names mean nothing. The technology that certain "brands" employ may have advantages over the tech used by it's competitors. Very few people have "back2back" compared AGX to Tokico for Drag, autocross, and daily driving.

I would suggest looking to understand the technology.... Tokico 5 way - under hood set - is rebound & jounce adjusted? independant J/R? What is the wheel rate you are trying to achieve? what are the options available? who is using? There are some good books out there to help teach the basics, F=ma. search for "How to make your car handle."

that's old info, I'm surprised it's still on there after all these years. there's a revised part number that's been out for about 3-4 years, and the front shocks are now the same length as stock.

I recently had my suspension installed and i couldnt be happier. I went with Eibach Pro kits spring and Tokico Illuminas. THe drop isnt extreme and the ride quality is however you want it. I always run 5-5-5-5, but running 3 all the way around softens it up quite a bit if you cant bear running 5 all the time. IF you want to see pictures of the lowered car, check my gallery. Hope this helps..

i kno i dont understand suspension fully, but from what i understood i wanted something adjustable that would affect my launching, thats y i chose tokico illumina shocks. does anyone know what kinda drop is expected with the illumina springs. i'm down to either full tokico suspension or adding tein s techs.
