I just got a NGR Type-S and recirculated it.

I had my old bov's holes welded shut thinking it was linking out from them(it def was) but my problem still isnt fixed.

It'll sound normal and whistle between shifts, but under heavy load when I let off there wont be a whistle, just a VSH sound, almost like what compressor surge but it doesnt surge so much, just one quick sound, no flutter or anything.

I don't know what else to do.

I'm supposed to be driving 2 hours to get tuned tomorrow and I have to get this fixed..

I'm completely lost and running out of time, any ideas?

Does anything abnormal happen after you go WOT and shift? (bucking, power loss, ect.)
If it does, then there could be a leak.

MY bov makes a clean "PVSHH" sound when I shift under heavy load, just for comparison.

That's normal. Under light load, it only cracks open and will create that whistle sound that The Type-S/RS and knock offs are known for. Under more pressure and airflow, it just forces the air out in one big woosh and doesn't make a whistle. Sometimes it will even make a single barking sound. You don't have a problem unless it's leaking or fluttering/compressor surging.

If you want the constant whistle, get a HKS.

maybe boost leak

No, that's a normal sound,

For comparison I have an HKS and under light throttle it will flutter every time(pisses me off) but under WOT @ shifts it will give one big whoosh like you described, so it is def normal considering the HKS are KNOWN to flutter under light throttle.

So by comparison your BOV is working perfectly.
