need some turbo help

It all depends on your goals.

There is a lot of information on the site if you search a bit or you can give us some information and we'll try to help.

What is your budget?

What are your goals?

I didn't look at your mod list (since I'm not making a suggestion without more information) but is it up to date?

What is the car used for?

How reliable does it need to be?

What is your future budget? (In a year how much more can you put into the car to bring it to meet your goals)

I've found that 1/4 mile times are often more useful than hp numbers when considering turbos since people tend to be more realistic and less influenced by exaggerated numbers.

BTW "bolt on" has varying degrees of meaning. Once you get into this though you'll realize that for the most part compatibility is in your mind. If it bolts up to your exhaust manifold and your o2 housing the rest is just pipe wrangling.

K my turbo is about shot 97 gst what is a good bolt on replacement for it?

it all depends on the type of budget

if you gooing cheap , get a used 14b witch is the stock 1g turbo but you will need an install kit

if you have money get the evo 16g

if you have all the supurting mods and big boy money 50trim or gt35r

it doesn't take big money for a good turbo setup. If you take the time to do a little research and see what has worked for people with similar goals you get some good ideas.

We're fortunate in the DSM community to have a ton of turbo options. If you can't find the info you need or have specific questions that don't get answered, feel free to PM me.

Goals and budget are important like everyone on this site state.
I say get a 50 trim and see the difference:thumb:

I didn't really want to give a suggestion without getting a response but since everyone else is throwing things out there I don't want you to buy something that you don't need for no reason.

If you are going for a mild setup (low 12s and <300hp) then I would suggest a small 16g or 14b. These will spool faster and produce the same amount of power as the evo3 16g until the upper limits of their efficiency which will be >20psi or for absolute bolt-on-ability you could use a t28 in these ranges too. If you are set on the 300-350hp range then the evo3 16g is the way to go. If you want to go bigger then the sky is the limit and we can discuss turbos that you can stick your fist into and more.

The other thing to keep in mind is that if you are having a hard time deciding and don't know enough about the different turbos it may be worthwhile to buy a used t25 and slap it on for a while until you know where you are going. It only costs $80-$120 and you can always sell it again when you do switch turbos.

This is a silly statement. 50 trim is an absolutely useless way to state any useful information about a turbo unless you are comparing otherwise like turbos. Plus assuming that you are talking about the number of "50 trim" variants that tend to be larger than 16g turbos you are selling him a product that will only be dangerous (with no real gains) until he has some real supporting mods, the same supporting mods that could easily propel him into the 11s on a 16g.

Your right about this, but I was just giving him my opinion. Not everyone buys a 16g then upgrades later. Besides we still don't know what kind of power he is shooting for.

A 50 trim was only an opinion doesn't mean he has to use/follow/try it.:)

I don't have a problem with what you are suggesting just how you are saying it. The statement "50 trim" is relevant only within a series and as a comparison to another trim within the same family of turbochargers. One could easily have a 50 trim smaller than your fist or significantly larger than your car but these turbos would not be in any way similar. My point just comes down to using a meaningful naming structure. I'm not trying to attack you personally as this is a fairly common and widespread practice but it is also one that we should endeavor to avoid.
