I have a '99 eclipse, 2.0L, no turbo, auto. Only mods, intake. Car started, had been running well all day, runs for about 30sec and then the motor starts running REAL rough and the idle just dies down and car cuts off. Tried cranking again, car acts like it ran out of gas. Has half of a tank. You can smell fuel. Seems like it is flooded. You can smell gas coming out of muffler. Keep trying, no start. Pull plugs, they smell like gas too. Clean plugs put it back in. Finnaly got it to start. Now it will idle at normal rpm, but when you just blip the throttle it will rev up to about 3000rpm and just hang there for about 5 sec and slowly die off back to idle. Haven't tried driving the car. Nothing looks disconnected under the hood, all the vac lines I can see are hooked up, no cracks. Put new plugs in it. They had carbon ALL over them when pulled out like 5 min later. When it's running its running REALLY rich. Had a friend with the palm pilot plug in for DSMs and car is not throwing any codes and the SES light is not on. PLEASE HELP!!!!
