so i went through 2 different exhaust gaskets both of them blew off my exhaust where the downpipe meets the manifold... i was wondering if anyone knew of a good sturdy exhaust gasket i could buy from somewhere that can withstand itself... i bought a gasket from Advance Auto but that blew off from the exhaust after only a month of being on there, and yes everything was tightened LOL.

My theory behind this is that it could be from backfire problems but nobody on this site was any help for me unfortunately... :(

anyways thank you for your help.

The downpipe doesnt attach to the manifold, it attachs to the 02 housing. You can get a better quality one from extremepsi, but honestly you probably either have old gasket material on the mating surfaces you didnt clean, or the nust came loose. Ive ran advanced auto down pipe gaskets at 20 psi for 3 years and they never blew. There has to be another factor to them blowing out that you are over looking.

Na you didnt say anything dumb. Just realy clean the 02 housing surface. Old gasket can get really caked on there and if you look quick, it appears as if its clean, but its really not. Ive done that before and had the same problem you have.
