Don't plan on getting any traction EVER with those tires. Trust me when I say you'll be much happier spending a little more money on a better tire than going with a off-brand tire. Have you considered the Yokohama YK580, Pirelli P7, Nitto 555, BFG G-Force Super Sport, or Cooper RS3-A? Call Discount Tire before you buy anywhere else. We price match and you will also get free rotation and re balance's/free flat repairs. Can't beat it.

Look on simpletire.com. They have some cheaper off brand tires with good ratings. Probably the best selection and prices that you will fine.

Looks like they're made by Cooper Tire. I have Zeon RS3-A's on the Eclipse, Cooper Response Touring on the wife's Camry, and Futura Tires (made by Cooper) on my truck and have no complaints.

Having said all that, the tires in your link are Touring tires, and designed for comfort, low noise, and long tread life, not performance.

Depends. Looking for grip or longevity? If you want a cheap tire that lasts forever, i mean a LONG time then nankangs have done me well on my service vehicles. at 40k they barely look used.
Achilles also makes a tire on the cheap that ive had good luck with. No grip though, very hard wear compound
As far as sticky-icky tires I would take others' words on that, I'll be outfitting the awd with sticky street tires. For a weekend warrior car i would suggest getting the softest tires. Since you only put 5k or less on them a year. A DD I would use a hard compound or somewhere in the middle.

I went to Wally World and got a set of Douglas Xtra Trac II's of the same 205x55Rx16 size for less than 340 bucks mounted an balanced with road hazard warranty. 45K mile tire and works great for my application of a DD vehicle.

True, I could have gotten crazy with more expensive performance tires and spend hundreds more, but for my DD freeway application is the reason I went this route.

Plus, the Xtra Tracs have an aggressive tread for all season applications.

Just keep them inflated at 35psi for best results - you don't want a soft tire, for that will build up friction, steal some mpg, and you won't get the mileage out of them.

ill definitely take a look at those tires later, as for discount tire i live over 250 miles from them

I've had good look with hankook tires before and they aren't too badly priced. You can have a great handling car but with junk tires will be worthless. People usually cheapen out on tires and then want great performance and handling which won't happen.

I'd say stick with the name brand tires, it might be a bit more money, but the quality is definitely a lot better

I also agree with Pwaltz414, never scrimp on brakes or tires --Many sources out there, get a good middle of the road tire that will save your life.

Shop around and buy the tire that matches the car and its suspension. I would get a "sport" or "performance" all season tire for DD eclipse. I ran some bridgestone potenzas on my DD and was very happy with them.
You can use some online resources like discount tire and tire rack to shop around, look at reviews, to make a good choice. You might even find a dealer close by that is affiliated with them and have them sent directly to the shop. If not then use the resource to decide what you want then tell a local shop exactly what tire you want and get a price.
