2G need help on tires for 98 gsx wheels

need to replace all my tires, i know the size is 215/50/17 but was wondering if these would fit: Michelin 225/45 R17, 91H, M+S, Pilot Alpin im looking for cheap private selling tires and came upon this good deal looking for some insight on this thanks!

EDIT: found a better deal for size 215/55/17 these should be fine correct?

That will be a taller tire as far as overall diameter. It's okay if you have The space in the wheel wells. Also your speedometer will read a little bit faster than the car is going.

what size are you referring to? the 225 size or 215 size?

The 215/55-17. That will be a taller tire.....very small amount, but still taller. You might not notice the difference, but if the car is lowered a lot, it might rub on the bumps and potholes we have here in NJ

I ran those tires in that calculator.

215/50-17 is 25.46" dia
215/55-17 is 26.31" dia

oh okay so its not a terribly big difference right? still worth it?

Not too big, do you have enough clearance with the fenders? Also keep in mind that if your speedo says 55, you will be around 60

Alright thanks for the info! and shouldnt be too much of a problem, id say theres at least 2 inches of space to spare right now
