need help/info on wheel alignment

I just bought some new 17inch rims, *same as i had before and wiaght also* i seemed to loose accerleration/speed, not haveing the wheels alligned right can that be a factor, or the allignment on the whells are bad?

Changing wheels does not affect alignment and alignment does not affect acceleration (unless its really, really bad).
