Street Build Need guiding to boosting my 420a

I just need some help on boosting my car, I'm new at this, Ik the basic stuff I just need some extra guiding.

There are 2 ways to do this.

1) The cheap way cutting corners. Using the stock engine and being limited to roughly 8psi. Basically you strap a turbo and intercooler on, use an sfmu, fuel cut defender on the map sensor and get bigger injectors. Will this way work? Yes, is been done a handful of times and you can find a lot of information on how to do it. The limitation is your boosting an engine that was never meant for boost. The rods are the weak point and can't handle the extra stress on them resulting in an engine that may not last as long. You also have no way to tune the new setup, just dump more fuel into it. There is no easy way to tune the 420a ecu, you need a piggy back or a stand alone.

2) the expensive way. Build the engine with forged rods and pistons. Ditch the stock ecu and go with a standalone engine management system like megasquirt or use a piggyback like megasquirt or an AEM FIC. You will need bigger injectors and a 1:1 FPR. This ways is better because you have a stronger bottom end and a way to actually tune the setup.

Both methods are quite documented on here and 2gnt.com. You just have to spend the time and research.

Honestly man by the time you build the motor and do all the labor. You could have probably bought a nice clean gst and you could make it push so much power than the 420a motor. Trust me I had the same idea for my 420a but its better to start with a turbo car.

Yeah that's true if you have the money and time go for it. I didn't have time nor money so that's why i didn't

if i find one for a good deal then i might pick it up, but id like to learn and have fun.
