Need coilovers! cheap

my g/f wants to get me some lowering springs for the beast, so i need to know somethin. Are springs for 90-94 all the same? and i need ideas for what kind to get and prices of springs. thx

yes, all 90-94 lowering springs for FWD cars are the same.

Judging by the title and the subject of your post, I figured I should let you know that lowering springs and coilovers are not the same thing.
DO NOT get cheap ass coilovers, there are many threads on here about the ebay ones breaking many different parts.
For affordable coilovers for a 1G you have 2 choices Diamond Star Specialties (a bit more expensive and more difficult to install but better) or Ground Control (bit cheaper easier to install w/ less tech support and slightly lower quality).
For springs, the best options are the H&R Sport and the Eibach ProKit.
Your options for shocks are KYB Gr2 and Monroe, neither reccomend for use w/ lowering springs.
The KYB AGX, adjustable, but the rear is too stiff even on low.
Koni Yellows, rear only adjustable off the car.

Also don't do stuff to your car because your girlfriend says so.

There's no such thing as cheap coilovers. Be prepared to pay for them. Ground Control is cheap, but they aren't the real thing, they are a sleeve-type coilover.
I don't know everything about the best strut/spring combo, so I won't talk about that. Just remember you get what you pay for.
And don't get coilovers just because your girlfriend tells you so. I bet she couldn't tell the difference if your car was lowered with something like Tein or JIC coilovers then if it was lowered on Eibach springs and KYB struts.

ive only posted stuff about my engine but id like to in this one i have had alot of stuff on my civic and eclipse I hate coilovers if u buy cheap ebay ones say good bye to your shocks and ride and camber i would rather cut my own springs then ride on coil overs!!!!! buying lowering springs is the best thing i think buy far!!!! just get some nice ones and u will be ok dont just order some cheap ones on ebay im telling u if u plan on doing something like that u might as well just cut your springs it will be a way better ride and cheaper!! id buy some nice springs thow

whoa theres a big differenece between ebay coilovers and Tein, JIC coilovers. I wouldnt say all coilovers are cheap and shitty ride. I would say however that ebay "coilovers" which arent even true coilovers suck. Ground controls have been rated pretty high by the dsm community, i believe. Just pair them up with the right shock. I think tokico and kyb are both popular for us!
