Name That Noise!

Ok, here is the situation. My car has been in the shop for a month now. Every mod in my profile is what has been installed over that month. The mechanic just called me and said when he started it up and reved the engine a bit it made a "clingy" or and "clangy" noise.....but only when the engine is reved, not at idle. He said his first instinct says its coming from the head. He is going to start looking more into it now but are there any common problems that anyone knows of that may be going on here? Let me know if you have an idea. Thanks.

this happened to my friend twice. there was a clanging coming from the engine but only when it was revved. it turned out to be rod knock both times
