n00b here just have a couple of questions for anyone willing to answer. ok . i have a 99 GS what is the most power i can get out of it and what would the cost be? reason im wandering is cause i leased it and my lease is coming up to be over and i wanna know that if it will be worth keeping it and fixing up or if i just turn it in and get me a SUV. thx for any help

That question is very open-ended. With alot of mone you could get alot of power.

Moved to NT forum.

could i even add a turbo kit to it? etc.. etc... or would i have to start off with a turbo engine?

u can add a turbo kit, hrc or star's stage 2's both come w/ intercooler (star comes wit fmic if im not mistaken) and u cna boost up to 10 on stock internals altho i wouldnt go over 8. Everything is up to u, going all motor is fun tho. I am going all motor (until i spray)

ok none that made sense to me
heh

translation..
you can buy a stage 2 kit from either hrc or star [? never heard of star ] and boost a safe psi [ dont know much of how much boost 420a's can handle ]

forced induction will get the most out of your nonturbo. yes it will cost about 4-5k and yes you will only be as fast as a stock/lightly modded GST/GSX but hey it's up to you. going all motor will require you to rebuild EVERYTHING.. rods/pistons/etc etc. even doing all of this i dont think you'd be pushing more than 275ish whp...

just a little insight but a search will yield more answers.

thx alot. i have been reasearching but ams not too mechanically inclined so i guess best thing to do is get rid of it and if i thought of it start off with a turbo. since this is non turbo i can only get about 275h/p ? thats not good heh. thing is my cousin came here in his supra and by me driving that made me wanna soop mine up but he had like 4 sum in his. i guess ill go with SUV

well if the most i can get out of a NT is like 275hp thats not good for me and id really not like to get a used turbo cause no telling how other owner treated it and i dont like the way the new models look.

Oooookay, then. We're not going to re-do the history of piston-engine power capabilities.

Cruise around here and other DSM sites, you'll have more answers than you do questions.
