i have a 96 talon with a 6boly motor in it that was fully built and i been having problems with it but today i started the car and i herad a funy noise then i took it for a spin and i was getting knock very easy so i parked it. about 1 hour later i went up the street and i shut it down for 10 min then i started it again i was getting a loud knocking noise from the head. the car would try to start but it would not start so i pushed it donw the hill and poped the clutch and it started but then it died after i got it home and pullthe the valve cover 2 rocker arms were moving and the car seems like it doesnt have a compression any ideas

i checked this morning and it did jump timing but the ss valves are fine so i chenged the belt and i line the timing back up and it wants to start but it wont fire up any suggestions i have pics of the timing right now i can email it to you. i need help asap

Sounds like the head is toast. If it wants to start but dosent, run a compression check on it, chance are that you have low if not no compression. Start there and see what happens.

i started the car and i didnt get any knocking noise from the head but the car idles very choppy and i have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running but i think it has something to do with dsm link to any other suggestions

Do the compression check. The knocking you heard when the car had jumped timing was more than likely valves hitting your pistons. How would you know the valves are fine without pulling the head?

I hate to say it but it sounds like the head is all done. If you have to keep your foot on the gas to keep it running, choppy that sounds like a bad head. Just do a compression check on it, that will eleminate all doubt about the condition of the head. If compression is good, move on. If not the head is finished.

i pulled the head and i noticed that the valves look bent but i know that the rocker arms were moving so i will replace all of them and get it over with. thanks to all that replied to my thread
