i just ordered my GM alternator and relocation kit. while i wait for it to get here i decided to prep the car. AC has been out for awhile so all i really had to do was remove the alt and extend wires.

looks really good empty :thumb: i know changing the oil filter is gonna be even easier now

Damn bro, looks like your crusin' right thru that car! :hellyeah:

I'm trying to restore my old '99 RS, ATM. That thing had next to no maintainence done to it before I got my hands on it. Not only that, but I convienently hydrolocked it in Feb '11. Not one of better choices.......:nono:

At least you had a color in disguise. I found doggie poo bags, pee stains and female hygiene products while taking mine apart! WTF

Not sure If the girl did all three herself because i found stains on the same stains in the driver's seat. Just my luck! :ohdamn:

Anyways, keep up the good work, your making great time there!

What exhaust is that? Buschur??

yep. full 3 inch with test pipe

LOLoLOL haha! thats freakin awesome! loool :ohdamn:

Nice.
Feels good to see some one to bring back to life a (DSM).

sigh... i wish i did :(

that purple talon had some crazy damage to it. i originally PLANNED on fixing/restoring it but it was no use so i just took all the parts i had use for plus the ones i had bought and then just went ahead and bought me a bone stock gsx. mint condition also! everything in tact and fully functioning. paid $2000 for it and almost got it for like $800 LOL

Looking forward to the updates on the build and the revival of this thing.

just got some goodies in the mail :D

heres a quick update.

im doing the wiring for my new alternator right now. there is PLENTY of stock wire to use. no need for splicing/extending and i really dont like the idea of running wires on the driver side thru the belts and stuff. screw that!

ive got the alternator mounted up and everything is good. im just having a bit of an issue with the tensioner. anyone have a saturn alternator relocated also?

Looks good, I'm in the same boat - bringing an old DSM back to life. Can be really fun, and can be a giant pain in the a$$!

How much weight have you shaved so far?

to be honest, i really dont know an EXACT number but i can say its a bit. i removed all the insulation and sound deadening stuff from the inside of the car and firewall, removed everything that has to do with ac also. the interior is pretty much a dash on a frame and a rug only with seats. oh and all the emissions stuff is gone also.

makes me feel like working on it alot more with an empty engine bay!
