my afc reads 100+ knock wtf?

why is my afc getting exessive knock readings? for instance 2nd gear pull down the street 19psi. it read 104 knock. i have 650cc injectors but i still have stock smic and stock fuel pump (rewired with 8 gauge wire) can the afc read past 43 counts of knock? is something not wired correctly? can afc not read knock correctly on a 1g? and i think i have it set correctly but im not certain. can anyone spread some insight here? im totally confused/frustrated

NO the afc can not read knock correctly on dsm`s do not trust it for it, only use the logger to log knock.

right but every now and then i will hit up on the d-pad to see my peaks and it will show rediculus amount of knock. and i would log it but i lost my palm pilot so my friend and i are sharing his :laugh:

The knock function on the SAFC is so accurate and usefull that I didn't connect the wire during install.

as stated above the knock sum on the afc is useless because the dsm knock sensors work off of a frequency instead of a voltage...much like a microphone. so ignore those readings.

The problem with the SAFC knock "processing" is that it has no relationship to what the ECU considers knock. The ECU has the advantage of knowing the position of the crank and cams. It can ignore noises that happen outside the window that a cylinder might really knock.

The SAFC can only take the typical noise profile it captures when you train it and look for events outside that profile in the right frequency range and call them knock. If that was the only way you could get some idea if the engine was knocking it would be usefull but that's not the case here.
