i think you'll want something smaller, i've never had anything bigger than 2" opening on my 2.4L, and i've always had it sound really nice.

yeah def man...the bigger exhaust the more chattering, louder, annoying, whatever you wanna go with the muffler will be...there are mufflers that are really deep and sounds amazing. but usually once they get adjusted it has the lil bee followin you, or sounding like a furious weed eater in the high rpm or even when ya downshift. haha. but i got a 4.5" megan racing muffler off ebay. it was like seventy bucks but it did the trick. it's real deep especially with the test pipe, and once i get a header and custom piping it'll be louder, but once in high rpm it's real noisy. but good luck on ya search man for a muffler...
