Moving To Austin, Just Introducing Myself

Welcome, I live in Ft Worth/Dallas.

Pretty decent scene here really. In my little area outside downtown
there are about 6 AWD DSMs in my little area. One having 450 hp at the wheels.


Also if anyone is in Dallas.

Pretty good scene here. But like said, tons of TRANS AMs/Fbodys.
 
There used to be a pretty good racing scene, but when the economy crashed everyone stopped going out.

Thanks, well so far the only thing happening in Austin that i know of is some car show that's happening on May 23rd at the Travis County Expo.

Welcome to Austin. There are some meets every saturday night if your interested. I never see any dsm's out though except me. :( PM me if your interested in some of the meets.

So no Eclipse's go out anymore?
I know a few are being (re)built but there are still more than a handful of fast ones around. :confused:
I have to be feeling brave to come out, cause a ticket could cost me my job. But I am all over north Austin looking for people to play with. 183/Mopac/Parmer/Anderson Mill/McNeil areas. :D

You gonna put me, the wife, and baby up if I get pulled over for racing/watching? I drive for a living, a very nice living I might add, and I am not gonna risk that to come out on a night when cops just look for a reason to stop you. Sadly times are a little different in this economy and I don't want to be part of any cost cutting measures because of my hobby. :coy:
I DO occasionally stake out spots to catch people that underestimate my little smoke machine. You may not see me at the meets, but I pick on cars from them. I just barely washed the car, taking away from the typical trashed DSM look. OMG
And since you're a young buck, are you saying your car won't be worth racing? ROFL

Now stop posting and get to building. Your build is taking WAY to long! :banghead:

I thought meets were a place to come and hang out, maybe BS a little or benchrace ;)...

Last time i checked people didnt go to jail for standing around ina parking lot BS'ing around about cars...

I just wish DSMers would show up once ina while instead of making up blah blah excuses..

Thats the reason you dont see many DSM Meets anymore ;)

To a point that is true. What you are describing is a car show, to be held during daytime hours. Hanging out, bs'ing, etc. at the night meets is all in fun but we both know the night meets are for racing. The fast guys like to swing their dicks, the quick cars like to think they're fast, and the slow cars #### it up for everybody. Just a fyi...you CAN go to jail/get ticketed for standing around in a parking lot. My car isn't 100% legal, as most out there aren't either, and when you HAVE to report any ticket to your employer it makes you think twice about taking honey to the bees. A simple no signal ticket could cost me my job...times are different and they are looking for reasons to put you on write ups.

We do need to organize another DSM meet soon though. I know there was talk of the one in June, but that has faded into the forum black hole...

Looks like Kiggly alright... Richard is looking to make the big power scene I see. Good on you man! You going with E85, or sitckin with pump?

I say we get a gig going for June! I've been wondering when we are gonna get this year started!
 
I'm in Round Rock and have been around since Forced Performance was in Kyle...As stated by boostedt28;) there is not much of a DSM scene anymore in Austin. I Still see a few here and there as I don't hang out a parking lots much anymore,there's way to many cops for the bs crap to give you a ticket about. If another meet come by the wayside again I might be interested in coming, even though my car is a work in progres still.:shhh:
