I was looking at buschur for my motor. He emails me saying he ran out of cores in the time i was talking to him (2 weeks). To me that sounds like bunk. Now he's telling me i either need to send him my motor (out of my DD) or wait 2 weeks for him to "maybe get in more cores". I can't wait that long.

I start school soon and need this broken in before i'm driving an hour a day 3 days a week. Mixed city and highway miles.

He was cutting me a decent deal for an mostly assembled stage1 longblock for around 3500 shipped. So when i took out a loan, i took out 4k. Now i'm stuck NEEDING a new motor and not knowing what to do with buschur.

I'm close to saying screw it, and buying the sbr stage one longblock and throwing it in. FFWD would be a good option if they'd every answer their phones.

I'm at a loss everyone. Go with Buschur, SBR . . . I dunno. . . Please help.

Do you have a performance shop around that knows how to work on modded DSM's? If you can find a local shop that could rebuild your motor.... thats what I would do.

Tell Buschur that you have the money ready to go. Ask them if they are (for sure!) going to get more cores to build you a engine. If they say we don't know, or we can't guarantee anything.... Then flat out tell them you will have to take your money else where, because you don't have the time to wait.

Not to be THAT guy, but if you need something in a hurry and dont know what to do, why not buy a cheap car? Leave the dsm at what I assume to be home, and drive your 700-1000 dollar car for a little bit. Or just go with SBR, Jackson Auto Machine, Kar King, FFWD, and i think there may be a few others. Or why not get something used off our classifieds?

Dont want to step on your toes with these recommendations but Kar King royaly rocked my best friends motor, didnt last 1000 miles! Valves did not seal and #3 cylinder wall was scored, all during break in period, we went to Buschur to get it the right way. What a waste of time and money. My 2cents...and wheres the funny comment? haha:tease:

I sent a couple emails to david at buschur and got no response today, if i don't hear by tomorrow im going to call over there. I don't wanna waste money on another car, screw that.

It'd have to be a car that can drive 60 miles 3 days a week reliably. There's no way 700 bucks can get me that.

Speaking to someone on the phone seems to get the job done better than email through my experience. On the other car issue, if you bought a cheap TEL you would have a "spare" motor also!LOL

Hah, i'd love to pick up another dsm. But we have 4 cars in our tiny driveway and no garage space. So another car just isn't an option period.

If i have to wait i guess i have to wait. SBR's longblock would be 4300 bucks shipped when i'm getting the buschur (hopefully) for 3700 shipped with everything i need to make it a longblock. I also already bought 3g lifters and Prothanes for the buschur (or in anticipation of rather).

I'll talk to him tomorrow about what is the best option. If not i need a whole longblock asap from somewhere else. And i still want it to be a good motor comprable to the SBR or Buschur stage one stuff.

Rebuilding isn't really an option because there's no good shop around here that could do it. I wouldn't trust a shop around here really it's all big trucks and big motors. I'm lucky my mechanic likes to work on dsm's and has owned a couple. So at least he can pull out a motor in these things.

The thing im really hung up on is how even though i was talking to him for 3 weeks about this and told him i had the money, not once did he say he had lots of orders come in. Kinda bad service if you ask me. Even just a simple email telling me to step on it would have been fine. But he had to wait until i was ready to order (money in hand) to tell me they were all out. "We went through 10 cores in 2 weeks". . . Just sounds kinda fishy.

Buschur puts up with a lot of noob crap (not saying you are) and I cant imagine what that guy goes through with DSMr's day to day. All the constant rookie questions and other what nots would drive me nuts if I were trying to get serious cars built! And I can vouch for him that they are short on engine block cores. Did you know the Shootout is in 2 weeks!!!? He is probably running around like a chicken with his head cut off! I feel for Nick and Jarrod too, they are both good guys. Give them a call tomorrow, I'm sure they would be happy to help you. Just bad timing.

Yeah, some kind of notice still would have been nice though. I mean, i was talking seriously with him for 3 weeks now. Just feel kinda slighted.

I do feel a bit better though knowing someone can vouge for the lack of motors. Thank you for that, i feel a littl ebetter about it.
