ok I drive a 2g talon... fwd tsi... my turbo is going bad and I'm going to buy the forced performance 18g... I've got the punishment-racing budget manifold on my car and other than thats its stock... these are the problems I'm having

1. Haven't found a O2 housing with 3" exhaust outlet so if someone knew where I could find one that would be great
2. will I need knew oil lines, coolant lines, and of that good stuff?
3. I want the get the thermal 3" exhaust I wanted to know if there was a downpipe that bolted up to the 3" O2 and directly to the thermal 3"... perferably cat deleted but if not I'll just have to buy a test pipe
4. other than those things what are some other must haves in order to push 15psi out of the 18g... obviously fuel and managment... but what else, thanks
 
I think you're getting way over your head.

Besides getting a new 18g turbo, you will have to get exhaust upgrades, fuel systems, FMIC, SAFC or EPROM or DSMLink, cold intake, GM MAS, clutch, etc...

Check out the TECH section for upgrade paths.
 
Atleast rewire the fuel pump or get a walbro 190 and some 550cc injectors. Or push the 450's but with an 18g I suggest an upgrade. For engine management get dsmlink (best bang for buck).

Why is a GM MAS and cold air intake needed?
I agree with dsmmike - definately fuel pump, 550's, and dsmlink.

But since Im mad at my EX! I feel like venting some BS...

Bro. I personally would stay with a 2.5" O2
and find a DP that is 2.5" to the Flex then 3" out. Considering you are going to run a moderate 15 PSI. :thumb:
This will Still be adequate for up to 20Psi with out flapper blowing open.

But if I was you. I would be looking for a higher PSI then 15.
FP claims the 18G would need porting of the Exhaust housing on the short side. to run anything under 18.
If you dont. Expect! to have Creep issues. Which your system Might not handle and go into Fuel Cut... :notgood:
And if you go directly to a full 3" Expect Spike issues. And the associated Fuel cut.

And yess you will need the Install Kit. This wil get everything you need to bolt it on, as in oil lines and new bolts along with a Jpipe that will Work with your Stock Side mount IC.

Depending on what fuel managment you go with. Go no bigger then 550cc Injectors. IF you use Any sort of piggy back system

If you go DSMlink. Go no lower then 950's this will get you in the E-85 MIX, ballpark and net you some decent numbers even on the stock sidemount IC. Due to the Heatsoak you will get and the Knock associated with that heat soak, when running normal pump gass.

Now lets talk about Intercoolers.. At 15Psi. I dont think you will run into any Flow problems, but the Heat soak will be the killer...Stock side mount simply cannot dissapate the Amount of heat that 18G will make on a hot day with you flogging that right foot.
Dont buy the Ebay SSAC! It requires more work then you will probly want to do to install it.. Shure it Can be used. but it is not a direct bolt on!
So go directly to the next step up the ETS Street Kit, Its a Direct bolt in and is Aprox 500-600$.
With the ETS kit you will Not get Heat soak at that moderate 15Psi.
But under stand with a front mount that J-pipe that came in the install kit will NOT work. you will need this Jpipe. So decide before you buy. Are you going FM or stock side mount? IF FM ask FP to remove the Jpipe from the kit, which will reduce costs on that kit.
BTW ask FP to drill and tap a Boost reference for you. The 18G does not have one.
Or get ready to find someone to weld on a nipple to the Jpipe.

Forgot to say - like esoung said - a clutch. Your profile says "stage 3 clutch". What brand of clutch is that?
 
Like Doug R mentioned if your gonna buy dsmlink get some Fic 1050 or 1150. I know I should have done this too, but at the time I didn't think ahead and know my fic 750's are running over 80% duty cycle. Some meth injection is also another nice upgrade, but as esoung mentioned you have alot of things to do.
