Mobil 1 Oil.Now I have knock or loud tick.HELP

I don't know what the noise is.All I did was put in a 2.5 inch down pipe.Drove my car for 5 miles and my turbo blew (1000 miles on new turbo).So I replaced turbo with a new one from MJM Turbos.Changed the oil and filter.And now My engine has a knock.Same power as B4 but engine sounds loud.Is Mobil 1 10w30 no good for 2g mostly stock?Full syntitcic..

you serious!? did you replace them correctly? what did the crank look like? how scored was everything and did you measure the thicknesses with a caliper? im going to pick up my bearings now and replace them... wondering if i should get a new crank and rod?
 
Been there done that. Spun rod bearings that is. The only way to fix this is to pull the engine and completely dissassemble it and determine what caused the bearing to fail.

Then thouroughly clean the block and replace old crank w/ a new crank ($700). Never get your mitsu crank reground. You cannont half-ass fix spun bearings by just replacing the bad bearings.

What's wrong with regrinding a crank on a Mitsu versus every other crank shaft in the world? I do agree though that a spun rod bearing means tear-down not a simple "slap it back together" fix. Althought rod bearings do go out and if your crank can be properly machined and the rod itself looks to be in good shaps still I don't see anything "half-ass" about fixing it that way personally.

That is because the mitsu cranks have a nitride hard coating on the journals that is very thin. When a shop turns the crank down they remove enough metal to remove the nitride coating in the process, and have no way to replace it and/or no idea it was even coated to begin with. Its just not a good idea to mess with turning a 4g63 crank when you can pick up a good one for cheap. :dsm:
 
its just your lifter that are ticking most likely...honestly i don't like
Mobil 1 synthetic oil, it also made my lifters tick instantly. If you use
conventional oil, they won't tick so soon after an oil change.
you could also use a little thicker oil..like 10w40 or 20w40
