I've only recently begun taking an interest in logging, and I've managed to get MMCd v1.8g up and running on my laptop via the Palm OS Emulator (thanks ->PrOjEcTGS<- and hakcenter ;)). Also, I managed to make my own logger cable to connect to the serial port on my laptop, after reading all the threads here on how to do so.

Everything is working fine, and after reading up on how to use the MMCd software, I'm now able to log, read codes, and test solenoids/relays, injectors etc no problems.

My problem now is I can't figure out how to export my logs into Excel. I've read through at least 7 pages of threads searching for an answer to my question, but no luck. I've seen many threads showing how to do this by uploading log files from a Palm to a PC, and then saving as Excel files using the MMCd Tools. But I don't have a Palm - I'm logging using my laptop (via POSE), and haven't found any info on how to get my logs done using the emulator into Excel.

Is it that the log files are saved somewhere on my laptop :hmm:? I've done 2 logs so far, and I'm seeing them on the emulator, but I'm not seeing their corresponding .pdb files saved anywhere.

Can anyone help?

Three months later LOL, I just came across your post while searching the same subject you were asking about. I believe this is what you need man: MMCd Tools

I guess you just have to sync the emulated palm session with your host pc. Not sure how to do that since I've yet to use the emulation software for anything other than messing around. Let me know if it works.

Thanks for replying to my post -red97rum-, even though it's 3 months old! I still haven't solved my problem yet, but I kinda gave up after no one responded.
Anyway, I did see that link on MMCd's site previously. However, I can't figure out how to use it on the emulator (MMCd on my laptop).
I've read where others have used it with their Palm handheld though.
My problem is exactly as you said - how to sync the emulated palm session with my laptop, since it is the laptop I'm using to run MMCd.
I'm still hoping to find a way to do it though...

I know how :).

Problem I'm having is MMCd tools claims it creates an xls but it doesn't, only gives me CSV files :(.

Really??? OMG How'd you get it to create CSV files?:confused: This is the PC emulator you're referring to, correct?

Because once you have a CSV file, it can be easily imported it into MS Excel and converted into a spreadsheet.

Ya, I even got MMcd 1.8 and it still only gives me CSV files, oh well I figured out how to get rid of the stupid characters it gives me, so now I can graph in excel :).

If you haven't figured out how to hotsync here you go:

Basically follow these instructions:
Using the Palm Emulator

You first need to get Palm desktop (a program used for regular palm use), the version of Palm desktop you need to get depends on the model of Palm you're emulating, mine is a M505, which uses palm desktop 4.14.

Use this link: to find and download the version of palm desktop for your emulator: Palm Support : Palm Desktop: all versions

After you install that, follow the instructions on the pendragon page, if you still can't get it to work let me know and I'll walk you through it.

Hey guys, hope you don't mind me jumping in on this. I'm trying to get my mmcd to run. I bought a mix and match of connectors to hook up my M105 to the OBD, but I'm not getting a good connectivity to the port, so I'm waiting on my Sync cable to arrive. BUT I figured seeing as you guys seem pretty comfortable with mmcd I thought I'd ask. I have Palm Emulator and mmcd 1.8 downloaded on my laptop. Can I run mmcd on the Emulator? if so how do I get the mmcd on the emulator. every time I hotsync the palm it doesn't show up. I must be missing a step in the process, but for some reason I'm not seeing it. Any ideas as how to run mmcd on my laptop straight from the OBD? I appreciate the help.:thumb:

Wow - thanks DSMopar. I have to give that a try and see if I get mines to work.
Since my posts earlier on in the thread, my car has been down for a leaking slave cylinder. I think I've just about solved that, and should have it back up and running again soon.
I'll let you know how it goes. :thumb:

Wow, bringing this back, way bsck. Anyways, these links no longer work and I need a little information. I can’t sync or upload a log from my laptop via pal emulator. Does anyone currently know the correct way?

Laptop: wins 7 64bit
I have palm desktop/sync installed

Thanks
