I was just wondering do all mitsubishi turbos have the same center section and hotside?

A lot of them have the same bolt pattern that bolts to the exhaust manifold, but each turbo (t25, 14b, 16g) is unique in it's design and components.

Ive heard of people putting evo3 16g compressor wheels and housings on a 14b hotside. I know you end up with some kind of hybrid but what would be the diffrence between the original and the hybrid?
