I have a cylinder 3 misfire that appears at random after the car has been running warm for a while. Any where from 10 to 45 minutes after the car is all the way warm. If i turn the car off then on again then it goes away and I have another 10 to 45 before it comes back.

I have spark, i pull the boot off the plug when its running and it jumps to the valve cover just fine. The plug is wet and dark if pulled immediately after miss fire and it looks fine the rest of the time.

I just did a head gasket because I had coolant leaking into cylinder 4 and this started immediately after. As far as I can see the fuel injector is seated fine. I tried wiggling the connector to the injector to see if it was loose but that made no difference. I swapped the wires for cylinder 2 and 3 to see if half the coil was going bad and it didn't change anything.

Does any one have any ideas?

you could have a crack in your valve cover that could be leaking oil into cylinders. if you took your car to the mechanic its a good chance they could have caused a small crack. check oil cap and valve cover gasket for leaks. and gap your spark plugs to .028 and you should be good!

plugs are all gaped to .30" and I replaced the valve cover gasket while I was in there. valve cover was TQ'ed to spec

If you have a 2g car with a 6 bolt motor,it is probally phantom knock...it has what to do with the 1g CAS.

his right if that's the case only way to get rid of that is ecm link v3 its got option to ignore it. reason you get this if you do have a a 1g engine is because the 1g CAS isn't accurate enough to make up the job of the two sensors used on a stock 95... as for the reset it does that automatically when you shut down its a reset.

+1...or,you can go AEM,or use an Evo PCM

also, the stock 2g sensor setup has 1 sensor spinning 1 direction, and the other spinning opposite, and with the 1g CAS they're both spinning the same direction.

Thank you for reminding me to dummy check my self. I must have turned miss fire back on some how when clicking through link
