misfire problem

1g eclipse n/t 2.0. i have upgraded the fuel pump.. replaced plugs and wires... i have a misfire at steady rpm and also at idle.. everytime the misfire occurs i can hear my fuel pump relay kicking on and off... i can hear it clicking everytime there is a misfire... could the relay be bad? it looks like it has been opened and tempered with before cause there is silicone around it... please help.. gotta race this thing at local dirt track in a week!

replace that relay with a similiar one found elsewhere on the vehicle. if it solves it, then u know it was the relay

there is no relay like this anywhere else on the car..

You could try getting one from a local junkyard, I'm sure it would be a cheap way to find out.

found the technical name... its a mpi control relay.. thats whats clicking everytime the misfire occurs... HELP!!! junkyards around here are clean dry on parts .. everyone has these cars for the dirt track and gets all the parts

unplugged my computer.. plugged it back in fired it up and wala. it dont misfire or click anymore. so issue resolved.. i figure either a lose connection on computer.. bad computer.. or faulty injector causing the whole mpi to kinda go crazy.. guess ill run the piss out of it and see what happens... thanks for your input
