Okay so barely had my car 2 months, already having issues. I took off the spark plug cover, and underneath was metal shavings in the corners. My first impression was oh crap my engine is screwed, but I scrapped some of them off and underneath was silicone covering up a few cracks.
I drained the oil, and took the valve cover off, and there aren't any signs of the shavings anywhere... Just stuck to the silicone on top.
Anybody know if mixing metal shavings and silicone is a method of making the silicone harder to fill the cracks? I've never heard of it but it's the only explanation I can come up with. Any ideas? Am I missing something?
