Metal box under radio.

There is this metal box that was connected to the stock radio, and nothing else. After putting in a aftermarket ones, it wont connect to it at all, it was infront of the ECU also. Is it useless now, should I take it out?

Would this have been for the amp? I had the stock radio with one.

Yes you are correct it is the amp for the stock deck.

yup that is what it is, an external amp for the stock tape/cd in mine anyway.
