ok well i was the shop today speaking with my mechanic who speaks horrible english....

i was joking adn said "i wish i could pull my crank out with the block in the car still and the tranny still on...." he then went on to tell me cause i spun a rod i need new pistons bearings and crank ... Fair enough i allready knew that i probably scored all that crap up but he told me i could take my crank out with my tranny on its bs right???

cause i know 1 tranny is holding the flywheel.... the flywheel is attached to the crank....

kk thanks just reassure me that i didnt miss something in the years.... and that hes just messing with me

Maybe if Cris Angel came down to the shop and did his thing. Then you could probably get your crank out without proper disassembly.

Im willing to bet he could fix it without taking any bolts out either.

But realistically I bet you probably could get it all out with some prying and force but I doubt it would go back in properly, let alone without anything bent and having proper clearances.

Take your business somewhere else. In order to fix all that, you must take out the motor. I don't see how you can remove the crank with the tranny on, not to mention the flywheel.

Just to sum it up, go somewhere else and know that your engine must come out.

You can take it out with a grinder and a hacksaw. Then just use some gum and JB weld to put it back together. I'm sure it will be fine. *Dripping sarcasm*

I would suggest taking your car someplace else as well. Every time I check out a shop I listen for those stupid comments... unfortunately I haven't found a shop around here that hasn't made them.

The tranny has to come out. you can leave the motor in. if he lifts it up, he can pull the tranny really easy. but i agree. he's a noob.
