I used to have a ABS on my 1G AWD. I deleted it with triple-couplers. Couplers are instead of rear brakes proportioning valve. It looks like stock non-abs brake line now.
So I assembled brake lines diagonally from master BC. Right front and left rear are together, left front and right rear are together.
From triple couplers the brake lines are both 50:50. The middle one is IN, left and right are OUT`s.
I have replaced the brake fluid and bleeded the system like 5 times, but still, the brake pedal is like:
1. Without vacuum in booster, the pedal is very stiff. Approximatly in half the way the pedal is end off the travel. Can`t press no more further. Does not mather how much I try.
2. After I have pressed the brake pedal without the vacuum in booster and the pedal can`t go any further, I start the car (foot is still on brake pedal). Pedal travels more further about 1/4 and it feels kind a soft.
It is like: first 1/4 of total travel- pedal is like nothing. Next 1/2 of total travel brakes are goming on and last 1/4 of total travel the pedal is end of it. It is 1/4 away from front end panel.
Why are brakes so shitty? No leaks. No air in system, I assume. Also have Evo 6 booster, but this problem was before the booster swap. Booster swap actually made this problem a little bigger.
Brake pedal rod`s distance is correct, no excessive clearance.
I disassembled the master brake cylinder, everything looked OK.
All new discs, pads etc.
Am I missing something? Does the abs BC is really different than non-abs? Still air in system?
Non-abs mbc acts differently than abs mbc?
