I just bought my 91 Talon TSi, and I love it:hellyeah: But, the person I bought it from said it's "bone stock". After some inspection under the hood I've found what seems to be a MBC, but it's running from the bov to the waste gate actuator. So I guess question number one is; is this right? Everything I've read from you guys so far indicates no. It is supposed to run from a boost source, the compressor housing, to the waste gate actuator. Now, if I run it like that leaves my bov with a vac line running to nothing. I've done a bit of searching and I can't seem to find where the line from the bov is supposed to go.
Question number two is; being that he was running an mbc without a real boost gauge (I just purchased one and am getting ready to install it) could he have damaged the turbo? I've noticed a noise almost like a brake squeeler, but not as harsh or loud maybe more like a bearing, when I let off the gas. Is this just the turbo that I'm hearing or something else entirely?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Boost source -> MBC->Wastegate

Boost Source -> BOV from a separate line, do not T into the wastegate line

If you're concerned about the turbo check it for shaft play. It will have a very, very small amount of side to side play if you jiggle it, but should have NO in and out play.

Running a manual boost controller with no real boost gauge was bad on his part. He could have been running extremely dangerous amounts of boost withought knowing.

As far as the manual boost controller hook up, let this picture be your guide

I got that part, I am wondering how to hook the bov back up properly? If I am using the comp housing as boost source for mbc, where do I need to tie the bov to?

You are the man! Thanks so much for your help! One last question, when hooking up my boost gauge, do I just tee it into the line going to the bov?

Only to help you avoid a mistake that I had initially done a while ago, I wanted to let you know that you should place the tee in the line after the fuel pressure solenoid (as in the picture). Don’t believe that you can bypass the solenoid and place the tee between the lines going in, and out of, the solenoid. Eliminating the solenoid, instead of splicing the fuel pressure solenoid’s return line, can cause hot engine start problems.
