I've searched for this but have not found it either simple or specific. I am going to install a blow thru GM maf and a MAFT. The instuuctions say the whiote wire for the rpm signal can come from the CAS or the POWER TRANSISTOR module.the CAS wire is black and the other white. Let's go with the CAS blackwire, pin #2.
Where is this located in the engine bay? I believe I have located the cam angle signal harness. It has a blue/green plug with a white, black, red and another black wire. Someone has spliced into the black wire between the white and red wires previously as there is some kind of a plastic clamp on it now. Is this the wire I tap/splice into? Thanks, Mark
PS. The car is a '93 AWD Talon.

its the second one on the cas which is on the right of the car(left from the front) on the right of the intake cams. it has a harness with 4 pins going to it.

I found it easiest to take the power tranistor harness. It's right above the fuel injectors. I can get more info/pics if you need it.

Edit2: Just noticed your post was for a 1gen. I saw a 97 in your sig even though it's an N/A. So this is probably useless, but I'll leave it, maybe it will help someone in the future.

Edit: Found a post I did on another board about where the rpm wire was on the power transistor. Note this was for my car, a 99gst. Don't know if it will be the same for you, or the same wire color:

For my 99gst (don't know if it will apply to your 2g year) I tapped
the rpm wire on the Ignition Power Transistor. It is an 8-pin
connector just above the fuel injectors. Here is the pin out, if you
are looking at the connector straight on with the latch at the top:
/\
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8

Pin #4 is the rpm wire. This wire makes it's way to pin 58 inside
the cabin on the ecu connector (pin 58 is the safc rpm tap). For me,
#4 was a white wire.

No, You were right about it being a 1g. It was just confusing since he has a 2g in his sig but was asking about a 1g in his post.

Sorry I have a 1G but don't know how to change the sig. i thnk I have the correct wire to tap into. It's the black wire betweenthe white and red on the cam SIGNAL
PLUG, correct? mark
