will a MAF translator for LS1/LT1 cars work on a dsm?

on ramchargers.com, it staes that there are three different translators. One for 1G/2G dsm, one for LS1/LT1/buick GN/Grand prix, and one called the "translator plus", which adusts the timing curves in addition to the fuel curves.

I realize that the plugins are diferent, but i can hack the plugs off as long as all the wires/their function is the same on the ls1 sensor vs. the dsm sensor.

No, they ae not the same AT ALL.

The DSM version allows the MAFT to mimick the signal from a stock DSM MAF. Using one from another car, you'd be lucky if it ran at all.

here's one up on ya..

will a 2G translator work on a 1G without an AFC?

MAFT Version 2.0+ works for any car, it's just plug differences.

The older versions won't work like that, you'll get the wrong airflow signal. You can try to tune it out, but it's not worth the effort, there's no simple global correction factor that will work by itself.

thanks,

so what is the oldest version of a 2G maft that i can get to work on my 1G ?
