Ok I have a 96 eclipse, with 18 inch rims. They are 8.5 wide and 225 tires. I am wondering just how low I can go without worrying about rolling the fenders. I am hoping to get 1.75 drop with stock camber (after market camber kit). I would like improved handling and stiffness, but not rattle my teeth out, or brake my five month old baby's back. Anybody know any good setups that cost about $600 out the door? Thanks all.

Tokico Illuminas + Eibach Prokit. The most used combination.
I agree :thumb: I put these on my car last month and I'm glad I didn't go lower. It's exactly the combination of firm handling, ride comfort and look I was hoping to achieve. This combination is in the price range you are looking, right around six bucks. Don't forget to budget an alignment though. You can inexpensively bring the rear camber back into spec with spacers but the toe will change and that's what will eat up your tires the fastest.

I went with kyb agx, with ground controls and I am very happy with the ride quality and drop. the car is not completely slammed so it doesn't totally mess with the driveablity. I still have stock wheels on the car though, so personally, I don't know what it would look like with bigger wheels.:dsm:

wait, your wheels are 8.5 inches wide and you're running 225s. I'd like to see what those look like, got any pictures?

As far as how low can you drop it? If you want to maintain a decent quality of ride I agree, probably just run the Eibach prokit or an HR sport. Look KYBs are ok, Tokico is better, I'm personally a fan of Konis (Koni Yellow SA for most of my street applications). If you ever want to get into serious cornering we'll talk KW or Moton.

Any idea about how low I can go before I have to worry about rubbing?
