Hello Everyone,

I am in the process of a turbo install on a Mitsubishi 6G72 SOHC 12 valve V6. I am going to use a 14b for now, with plans on going with a 20g in the future ( gotta love that bolt right up ability). Anyway, for my initial tuning, I am wanting to only run around 6-7 lbs of boost, and I need to LOWER the setting on the factory wastegate. Anyone know how to do this, or know of another wastegate that will bolt up? I thank everyone in advance.

Oh, for the record, my car is a 1993 Dodge Daytona with a "couple" of mods .
Best time in the 1/8th mile so far is a 9.73 at 73 MPH spinning like mad in 1st and 2nd.

The only suggestion I have is to look for a vehicle that runs a Mitsubishi TD05H-style turbocharger that runs 6-7 PSI from the factory. You could then remove that WG actuator and replace it with the one on the 14b.

The stock wastegate actuator will not open under 10PSI.

Aside from the above suggestion, welding the wastegate flapper shut and going external is the other option.

A while back I heard that you could put a dent in the wastegate and it will lower the boost but I have never tried it. I read about it in a Honda Junkyard turbo setup article.

Would shimming the wastegate actuator so that it makes the can sit closer to the flapper work?

Does anyone know what vehicle runs this turbo stock?
