Well I just wanted to post up my mods and numbers and get a little feedback. When I first started building my car up I spent a lot of time looking at people's setups on this site. I was shooting to make around 300awhp with my 98gsx. I noticed a lot of people are easily making this with a 50trim and supporting mods. There's even a handful of guys putting out 300awhp with 16gs. Anyways I got tuned and dynoed the other day on a mustang dyno and I ended up with a sad 265awhp.:notgood: What do you guys think is keeping me from 300 plus? By the way, I was tuned up to 21 psi. He turned up my boost after that and it didn't make any more power so he concluded that the temps were getting warm.

-50 trim
-pte 680 injectors
-walbro 255
-ebay fmic with custom long route piping
-custom 3'' turboback exhaust
-ported 2g mani
-hks external w/g with dump tube
-injen intake
-aeromotive fpr
-ported/polished evoIII head
-1g throttle body
-dsmlink
-1g bov

thats very low. what were your a/f ratios?

I made 237awhp on a mustang dyno w/ my agp t28 on 14psi with the safc leaned out by I think 5% on the stokc fuel system too. I think that theres something wrong with the tune, but I cant be sure until we see it....do you have a pic or scan of the dyno sheet? maybe do a compression test?

I will get pics of the dyno sheet up tonight. I haven't done a compression test for a while, but last time I did it was good. Is there anyway I can post a file containing my final map? I'd post this on dsmlink.com but I don't have a user name and I'm unable to register/

Sounds like your tune is off. Might be running way to rich or you knock sencer my be messed up and pulling a crap load of timing. Check your knock counts, A/F and timming advance and let us know what you find.

I'll check out all that tonight. I know the timing looked really choppy and not smooth like it should be. I talked to the guy about that and he just said that's what you get with a dsmlink tune. I'll look over the tune later tonight when I get home. Is there anyway I could link the file up for you guys to see?

Sounds like you may have a pirated version of DSMLink. :nono: If you copy is legit, just email the ECMTuning and they will probably ask for the numbers on the chip and set you up with an account.

1. Was the car boost leak tested before tuning?

2. Sounds like the guy doesn't know shit about DSMLink, why are you unable to register on Link site?

It's v2 and my buddy never made an account because he's a lazy. I asked the guys at the shop to do a boost leak test and they said they would before I got there. When I got there they said they didn't need to because it was good. I'll have the dyno sheet up here in a few minutes. And thanks, Dream On I'll send them the number and get an account set up soon.

I didn't see one in your list, so are you still on the stock clutch?
-Because it begins slipping pretty bad at roughly 260hp. Your dyno reading can only ever be slightly higher than the power level the clutch will hold. -Unless you somehow miraculously removed the engine and used a non-chassis dyno.

21 psi on a 50 trim should be well over 300awhp, if your tune is even anywhere in the ballpark and you don't have any boost leaks. If there's a worn or weakened coupler or seal, a 50 trim at 21psi will certainly find it for you.

You go right back there and tell them that unless they do a boost leak test, they won't know if everything is good. Just looking at some intercooler couplers and saying "They look tight" is not good enough. There's more places than just the intercooler piping that can leak, and without doing a proper boost leak test, you'll never know for sure.

Do you have the log? I would like to see it! I have similar mods. What does your DSMLink HP estimates say? How close were they to the actual dyno numbers. Take account that was a mustang dyno, if you want bigger paper numbers, a dynojet would have you almost at 300.

But please do post your log.

Yea I've got an act2600. Forgot that sorry.

How can I post it? I can email it to you if you want but idk how to link files on here.

This forum does not support .txt files and that is what my log is saved as. Like I said before, I am unable to download dsmlink on this laptop so I can't even look at the whole log myself. I had the guy that tuned my car email it to me. I would be more than happy to email it to you if you would like.

Yea the DSMLink log file is in .dat file which this site does support. Weird how you have it in .txt. Anyways do you remember what your DSMLink HP estimate was? I am curious to see how close it is with actual dyno.

400awhpgsx, I'm closing this thread for now as part of our agreement with ECM tuning to help preventing possible pirating issues, PM me after you take care of your DSMLink registration and I will be glad to open this thread back up. In the meantime, I would suggest that you perform a boost leak test on your own as the shop has not proven they can be trusted so far. Good luck.

Brian has confirmed to me via DSMLink forum that he has successfully registered with DSMLink, this thread is now re-opened.
