I just installed exhaust manifold gasket and turbo gasket. after that i went to drive the car and at when i boost past 10psi my car makes this noise kinda sounds like a horn like pressue escaping somewhere? i am missing one exhaust manifold stud and another stud is loose also missing 2 turbo bolts can it be that is whats causing this noise cause the exhaust manifold isnt sealing properly? or is this a boost leak?

A small boost leak will do this. Its kinda funny, if the coupler is tightened down a certain way, and enough air can get through the coupler acts like a wedge and its air squeeking or making a horn noise.

Do a BLT and you will find your problem. It can get reallllly loud, this has happened 1 or 2 times to me.

Yea i will get back to you guys im doing a boost leak test this weak.

While u have the intake off for the boost leak, check shaft play too. If the compressor wheel is hitting the housing it can cause a horn like noise. Besides doesn't hurt to check shaft play when intakes off

Dont be hard on the shaft when looking for play. Most people actually CREATE their shaft play by FORCING and WIGGLYING it to hard. One finger, give a little and i mean "little" push in a direction. Never force it.

A boost leak will be your problem, im almost 95% positive. A bad turbo will make a louder spool or whinning noise. You are probally hearing a VvvvHHHHH sound.

So i did a bl test today and it was a boost leak thank god! It was the intercooler pipe slipping off the coupler so i pushed it back in really good and tighten the hell out of it and no more boost leaks so im happy and that horn noise is gone! :)
