Actually, oddly enough, I've gotten some compliments on our stock "orange" guages. I always thought they looked like crap, but I've had multiple people sit in the passenger side and say "whoa, I like your orange guages."

i just wanted red face guages, , and ive decided im just gonna put red bulb covers in the stock guage faces, for everyone else who was actually imputting on the thread topic thanks alot

Instead of putting red bulb covers, just get some led bulbs from www.superbrightleds.com

You'll need to get a dremel and take out some of the plastic in 3 holes where the bulbs go.

You cant use LED's with our gauges without modifications to the gauges... there is a orange tint on one of the layers of the stock gauges... I tried! ... however, the HVAC gauges are a different story.

Not saying you can't at all... but I think you gotta sand the living hell out of the backside to sand off the orange film.

It depends on the color, I have red leds and I can see them fine, besides a few little hotspots. If you went with blue or white leds, the orange tint may make a difference, but because of the frequency of red, the orange tint doesn't make a difference.

Red LEDs look really good, that would be a good route to take.

If you go with superbright LEDs, the color shouldn't matter. I replaced all of my interior lighting with blue LEDs and didn't have to worry about the orange tint. The only exception to that rule was the cigarette lighter bezel, which I just painted with black dye.
