I have been looking around for a good remanufactured/used engine to replace my very close to dead 4G63-T. The lowest cost decent option seems to be either a risingsunengines.com imported engine, or the karking rebuild both are around ~1200. I am hesitant to go either direction since they both have their negatives, however I am on a very limited budget and need to do it in the next few months so these are the options I have.

Pro's of karking engine:
-Newly Rebuilt
-resonable shipping
-should have good compression on all cylinders
-6 month exchange warranty

Neg's of karking engine:
-not sure what kind of machine work they do, or how thourough they are
-can't find any reviews/info online

Pro's of rising sun
-low miles
-engines dynamically tested (compression, leakdown, oil pressure, ran on natural gas)
-90 day warranty
-Resonable shipping

Neg's of rising sun
-import engine horror stories
-90 day warranty
-no clue how engine was treated or driven in past life

I am sure there are more pros and cons, I think a newly rebuilt engine would be the way to go but I can't afford a reputable company like SB or Buschur. Any advice, stories, ideas, or reviews would be greatly appreciated.

I think that I am going to go with the karking motor. After reviewing their BBB membership and that they are a DSMtuners sponsor, I believe them to be a reputable company. However I did request information about the their rebuild methodology as I don't want an engine that was just cleaned honed and re-ringed. As soon as I get the information I will post it here. It won't be until next month or early May that I can order the motor.

HEY whats up man? have you gotten the motor yet i was trying to get a motor from them but they never replied back to me. Have you checked out overbore.com those people look like they know how to build motors. they blue print them and stuff you should check them out. peace
