Looking at buying a Greddy 18r FMIC kit, isn't it CARB legal?

I can't find any reference to this, but I swear I've read that this FMIC is CARB exempt and that it was the 24r that was not.
Any truth to this? I might be buying today or tomorrow but I'd like to know the facts first.

Thanks!

Yea the carb documents are on this one site, its a .gov site too I believe. They have all the papers there for other parts as well that pass.

You know what is also CARB legal? Getting a better FMIC kit and using that Greddy CARB paper. ;)

Heh, yeah I realize its not the most fantastic kit, especially with that 35ft. of piping but it will support my 350hp goal nicely and should kick the crap out of my stock sidemount.
Plus I might get it for only $250 ;)

I'll check out that gov site and post what I come up with.

http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/devices/amquery.php

I check it out and all it says is Greddy Intercooler Kit for Eclipse 2.0 Turbo 1995-1997.
I can't read the pdf for some reason so maybe there is more info there.

Either way, I believe this is sufficient proof that the FMIC is in fact CARB exempt and that any user should have no problem from the local or state authorities.

EDIT: Read the PDF and it doesn't even state the model, the type or any other conditions of what a greddy fmic kit might look like or contain.
Conclusion? Fricken sweet.

You do know that if your car was turbo charged from the factory you can change them all you want and still be carb legal. People have been to the ref and he stated as long as you have your stock bov recirculated like stock you are good to go. So run any system you want, just run a stock bov and don't vent it.

The .pdf just states all of the article numbers and crap that makes it legal. Doesn't state weather or not it's for the 18r or 24r. I'm gonna sell my 24r soon so this will be a nice document to put with it LOL.

I commented in a thread in the NorCal section regarding this issue exactly. Unfortunately I'm not yet ready to throw my car into the hands of "hearsay" and "this one guy i know said the ref said".
Once I find it in black and white I will be a true believer. :thumb:

If you havn't been sent to the state ref for smog, well, look at the mods on my car, and other fellow norcal people who have also passed who have even much more extreme stuff, that should be black and white enough for ya. :)
